I will not leave a drawn out review, course by course because, quite frankly, it's the same story as others. High expectations (how could you not have them) and quite the let down. Food was mediocre at best. Lobster Bisque, every night? A chilled soup? where is the true food adventure when you only have, as in our case tonight, 10 diners? Forget creativity. Overcooked halibut! In a restaurant like this that sets you up for an experience? The two stars is for the passion and the ambiance, the food is a complete let down. Total bummer.

I've eaten here five times. The husband and wife team that own/run/cook here are delightful people with a great concept. Fresh, value, romantic, not-hurried, folksy and fun. So why only 3 stars? Maybe it's because we've dined at 5+ places and were expecting to be "wow'ed" by 6 tables. Certainly the set-up, pre-amble, venue and personality leads one to believe that it will be FANTASTIC. But it just falls short of other chic places that we've dined at. Mind you - you'll have a terrific meal. You might even regard this place as a 5 star joint. That is, until you eat elsewhere. And because I'm not reluctant to give out 5 stars unless they really meet the mark...and because 6 tables is A-OK by me...that's my rationale. I'll be back. I just won't have super expectations...and I'll have a good, solid meal that prepared by people who really care.

A unique dinning experience with excellent food, intimate surroundings, superb service and charming hosts. Dishes are well presented, fresh and outstanding examples of classically prepared ingredients. You will not be shocked or impressed by a food " WOW" factor here, but you will appreciate the quality and taste of impeccably prepared and presented dishes. I've paid a lot more for meals that are not better than this. Add in the intimate nature of the chef and servers acquainting themselves with the evening diners and explaining the menu of the day and you would be hard pressed to duplicate the experience. An added plus is that free parking is in a private lot off of Mizner Park only feet away from the restaurant.

Best restaurant in Florida Service was impeccable from both our server and owner chef, Jonathan One sitting provided an unbelievable 5 course meal with a champagne welcome. From the lobster bisque to our entrees of duck and lamb chops. This place is second to none. They gladly opened our wine for corkage and even joined us in a glass. On the expensive side but soooooo worth it!!!! We will be back sooooon!!

Perfect. Only complaint would be to get wine out faster.

It started off well. The atmosphere is nice. We were a group of 5 people and only 3 out of 6 tables were taken. The chef came out and thanked us for being there even though it was a holiday and he appreciated that we came out. AS IF. At the end of the night our group was just chatting, just finishing up our coffees and the chef came over to our table and said 'My waitress needs to go home so....' How rude. And it was only 10:30pm. The chef gave a 30 minute speech in the beginning of dinner. Maybe he should shorten the speech so that his clients have time to socialize with each other. The actual food was just OK.

This is such a nice romantic place to go for any occasion. The food is excellent & its a lovely dining experience. They start out w a glass of champagne & whichever courses you choose you cant go wrong. I usually have the duck. I love the caesar salad and lobster bisque. The menu changes but there are a few staples that i have seen repeatedly which is a good thing!

Had high hopes for this place. The food was very fresh, put portions were very small. Service was good and you certainly can't beat the atmosphere. Go for the experience and get the duck - you won't be disappointed.

This is one of the best restaurants in the state of Florida. Only 6 tables, so make a reservation in advance. It's quiet, romantic, unusual and charming. And the food is beyond delicious! The owner prepares fresh every day. He greets you, introduced himself and explains the menu he has prepared and gives you a few great choices. The sizes and temperature are perfect. So you will have room for his home made dessert of the day. John and Debra Make you feel like family. Don't miss this place!

The restaurant has a great concept with the intimate 6 table seating.. But that's about it. Although the food was not horrible, the menu and presentation was unimaginative and boring. For the price of the meal.. I except a more modern, more creative and better presentation of dishes. The restaurant would do better as a modern tasting/pairing menu

Took the family to 6 tables. We enjoy supporting a well run independently owned restaurants and Six Tables deserves just that. Jonathan, the owner/chef has indeed gotten some of his "mojo" back. I won't bore you with what has been written about Six Table previously. Just to the food and service. Bottle of wine was priced according to restaurant expectation. Started with a glass of ok Champagne with a small serving of medium sized shrimp cocktail. I would say this course "again" was the weakest of the experience. Maybe we are expecting too much at 6 Tables. An old school Shrimp Cocktail is just not going to impress anyone. The Shrimp was fresh and had a nice snap to them. Soup this time around was a vast improvement. The Bisque excellent with good amount of Lobster. The Butternut Squash soup was also very good and enjoyed. The Deconstructed Cesar Salad was fine. Entrees: The Filet Mignon was excellent. The Potatoes and the Vegetables were excellent The Duck was superb The Venison Loin was good, just a bit too much and over powering Lavender. All the meats were extraordinarily tender and cooked spot on. Desserts were "ok" but still seems to miss the expectation. The service was very good, we did miss the Chef's wife who was not in the house this night. Including tip total was 360. The meal over-all very good and enjoyed. Did it instill the wow factor to encourage another visit?

If you are going for atmosphere you probably won't be disappointed but if you are a foodie like me and my husband I cannot recomend this restaurant. I was disappointed from the beginning. The starter bubbly was overly sweet and not properly chilled, the scallop amuse bouche was slightly undercooked. They get an OK for the soup and the salad was excellent. The biggest miss was the main plate I ordered the filet rare and it arrived medium so I switched to the duck I have never had duck that was at once fatty and overcooked and dry. The desert mousse was not bad but my coffee arrived late and not hot All in all this restaurant gets it 2 stars from me for the atmosphere not the food

This place was a lot of fun! My mom took me here for my birthday, which is the only type of situation where I could go --when someone else is paying! it's incredibly expensive, but it's a delicious 5 course meal and i loved every minute of it. The place of obviously intimate (6 tables!) and there's two servers and the chef, who was very kind. The food was wonderful and if i had the money i would totally return!

To respond to comments from the owner... How gracious of you to sit me 20 minutes late. I must apologize for my 2 month old daughter delaying my wife and I having our first night out in 3 months. I feel privilege you let me pay for the overpriced experience of dining at your restaurant. Just to clarify on my initial comments which I was going to leave alone, but since provoked by the chef I feel i must justify my comments. Appetizer: 2 small shrimp in cocktail sauce???? Really, for an 80 dollar priced fixed meal I thought that was odd. Maybe a bit of creativity here... Salad: "Deconstructed Caesar Salad"... Call it what it was.... Caesar salad with capers... Folks... not kidding... a few heads of romaine... a few cherry tomatoes and dressing. Can't tell you the last time I went to an expensive restaurant and was served a plain old caesar salad. Soup: Moroccan Spice Soup... it was fine... a bit bland but no major complaints. Just not memorable in any way. Entree: Bison Strip Steak... It was cooked well. Tasty, just ordinary and unimaginative. Nothing interesting on the plate.. The Haricot vert was over cooked and carrots shaped like balls. Really??? The potatoes were fine. Dessert: Chocolate Bread Pudding.. it was actually pretty good. So good the chef responded modestly when my wife paid him a compliment on the dessert by saying "I challenge you to find something that good anywhere" WOW... chef, it was good but calm down. Maybe a bit of modesty would serve you well. Now... does that sound like and 80 dollar price fixed dinner to you? If it does then this is for you... Oh, and buy the way had the nerve to charge us 5 dollars for an espresso and 7 dollars for a cappuccino on top of that. Sir, it is not the price... it's what you get for the money and for that kind of money creativity and outstanding quality are expected. Once again... thank you so much for seating my wife an I 20 minutes late.

Good people who deserve to succeed! The concept of one dish for each course was not my usual . Sampling two or three appetizers and two entrees gives a great perspective of a Resturant. At Six Tables I got past that because of perfection in food preparation and service. At the end of a busy work week this is the ideal place for a great meal in a quiet, not rushed environment. Support this Gem!!!

For a nice night out - great food and unique dining experience. A bit pricey, but worth it for a special occasion. The Chef/Owner is great and the service is always impeccable. Just made my reservation to go back for the 4th time and can't wait ti see what's on the menu this time!

Awesome - Awesome - Awesome This is probably the best 5 star dining experience in Boca Raton and should be added to all yelpers "must visit" restaurants. Six Tables is a tiny restaurant located near Mizner Park where there are, well, only six tables and most of them are for couples with one or two tables for four people. They are open for dinner only (prix fix $75), by reservation with just one seating, Tuesday through Saturday night and during season, they get booked solid for weeks. The dining starts at 7pm (don't be late as the chef makes a presentation to the group). Chef Jonathan Fyhrie is the proprietor and gives personal attention to all guests explains the restaurant concept - a intimate place where guests are served a delicious five course meal in style with settings of unique china, crystal, crisp linens and silver settings complemented with attentive unobtrusive service dedicated to providing you with a memorable evening of dining. Guests are first served a welcome glass of blanc de blanc champagne and escorted to their table. When everyone is seated, the front door is actually locked and curtains drawn to add more privacy. The soup was lobster bisque and was unbelievably good and I would rate this as the best I have every had. If they offered take out, I would order this to go. The caesar salad was simple, fresh, and perfect and complimented with fresh baked herb bread that melted in your mouth. The main menu choices that night were lamb (most people ordered that), salmon, duck, bison ribeye, or chateaubriand. I went with the chateaubriand and it was presented in an artistic manner in perfect medium temperature with a side of bernaise sauce and small round serving of mashed potatoes. Next was a small lemon sorbet to cleanse the pallet, followed by a dish of artisian cheese and fruit. The poached pear infused with wine was incredible. The desert was followed with a chocolate mouse and strawberry custard. This is a PERFECT spot for a romantic dinner and will impress any self professed, hard to please, Foodie. I was tempted to take photos of each food presentation with my iphone so I can upload them here, but did not want to draw unnecessary attention to my table and be labeled - "that guy". Take my word for it --- visit this place ASAP.

Quiet comfortable dining atmosphere. Food is superb. Go for an evening dining experience. Chef greets, answers question and describes the menu for the night. Love it!

A great foodie experience for those who want to be papered! The meal began with a description from the Chef. He came across as a caring host, someone passionate! We started off with a French Sparkling Wine and a seared Diver Scallop that was excellent! The soups were the signature Lobster Bisque and a Seasonal Vegetable and Fruit cold soup, served with Oven fresh Herb Bread. Once again excellent! The Cesar salad was the original version created in 1924 by Caesar Cardini, an Italian restaurateur in Tijuana, Mexico (no anchovies). Served as excepted on cold plates, but to our party found it very bland and tasteless. Then, Sorbet to cleanses the palate. Entrées: the Filet Migon and the Au Poivre Vinison, cooked to perfection with baby asparagus and sautéed potatoes. Good portions that where cooked to perfection. (You could cut the Filet Migon with just then fork.) Desert: the Crepe Suzette with fresh Peaches and the Chocolate Mousse, both very satisfying. The Coffee was hand pressed and tasty. Overall a good experience, worth four stars. We will be back. I just won't have super expectations ... and I'll have a good, solid meal that prepared by people who really care. Cheers!

My wife and I went here for our first anniversary. I totally surprised her since she wanted to eat on the water. This was the first time for us to have a dining experience where you pay one price per plate and it's a whole dinner service. When calling for reservations, the hostess told me that there was a table of 8 that had already booked. That being said, I was worried about it being too loud in there and asked her about it. She said they're "executives" and will be quiet. Uhm, as you can imagine, 4 "executives" and their wives and 8 bottles of wine isn't very quiet. Actually, we thought they were rude and so did another couple...my recommendation would be to make sure there are no large parties there when/if you go. The 2 ladies attending the dining room along with the chef were quite pleasant and very friendly. It's definitely a unique dining experience in the lack of customer service friendly South Florida!! To the food....it was good. We started with the lobster bisque and then a caesar salad. They then brought out some sorbet before the main course. I had the lamb and my wife had the fish. Both were good. If you're looking for a "get full" meal, this isn't it. The portions are very small, but very good. I think the salad somewhat does the filling because the entree is plated nicely, but not much to eat (4 little french lamb choppy thingys, 3-4 asparagus and a 1/2" thick slice of potato cut in 2). After the entree, they had a poached pear, some grapes, and some very small pieces of 3 different types cheese...slivers you might call them...to split between us. After this course, there was a strawberry shortcake that wasn't that impressive and then some chocolate mousse thing. I can't comment on it because I'm not that big of a chocolate fan anyway. We also had a bottle of wine with the meal...cheapest one was 40 bucks for a bottle you can probably buy for 15 max outside. The wine cork fee of 25 bucks (if you BYOB) is a little ridiculous too. Overall, we had a good time and would recommend this for a 1 time event. The bang for the buck (value) just wasn't there for us... Would we do it again? Nah....

My wife and expected much, because we had heard so much good about Six Tables. And usually we get disappointed when our expectations are set high, but not this time. Everything was perfect and I mean perfect! We are used to dining in the best restaurants in the world and to be honest, Florida is not the place for us to be regarding food. But Six Tables just blasted us away with perfect service, fantastic food and a very different experience, like dining with good friends in their living room. If you want to give your spouse a fantastic and romantic dining experience, this is it!

Loved it. Went for an anniversary dinner and it was perfect. The food was delicious: lobster bisque, duck, and lamb chops all standouts. Such a cool dining experience. A lot of food for the price and great for a special occasion.

Lived in Boca since 1995 never heard of this place! It's next to Vino's which I have been but its easy to miss cause the curtains are drawn always! They have 1 seating with 6 tables. Absolutely the MOST romantic atmosphere and BEST food! John and his wife run the place. Before dinner he does a history of his experience and the resturant. No request is denied! He let me bring flowers before the meal and decorated the table. Guys! if you want to make an impression GO THERE!

My husband and I recently organized a group of friends to have dinner at the Six Tables in downtown Boca Raton. They are in the Mizner Plaza (the small strip on the south end of Mizner Park). Anyway, this is a very unique dining experience perfect for small groups like ours. We had 19 people there (out of a maximum of 24 ppl). Everything was wonderful and everyone enjoyed their meals. We started off with a complimentary glass of champagne. We were then had a choice of several entrees- Chateubriand, baby Lamb chops (I believe they were either Australian or New Zealand), Duck or Salmon. But first, we had the best Lobster Bisque soup I have ever had with nice hearty pieces of lobster. Then came a wonderful house salad with a light homemade dressing and fresh baked herb bread. Then it was time to cleanse our palates with a nice lemon sorbet. I had the Lamb Chops and they were cooked to perfection. It came served with some kind of a thinly sliced potato au gratin and some perfectly cooked asparagus. For dessert, my husband and I shared the chocolate torte and banana caramel cake. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some whipped cream. It was devine! They are running a summer promotion right now called 4-4-3, bring 4 people and pay for 3 (or in our case, we divided up the savings amongst our entire group). Great fun and a great place to discover. Located at 112 NE 2nd Street in Boca Raton. 561-347.6260
